Jason Calcanis vs. David Heinemeier Hansson on startups 

Most of these points are also listed in 37signals.com’s new book REWORK, but it’s nice to see David discuss/argue it in an interview. Two specific things that I took from it was:

  1. Your success is measured by how much good you were able to bring to the world.
  2. The whole point of a business is to make a profit. Revenues mean shit if there’s no earnings on top of it. Of course this is not a new idea, rather a reality check that big numbers aren’t necessarily all that important.

I got the chills twice while listening to this song from The National’s upcoming album. They performed on Jimmy Fallon earlier this week. The most notable part for me are the drums in the latter half of the song.
